Black Panther Takes Center Stage In Avengers Animated TV Show Trailer

A new trailer for Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Quest previews what the latest season of the animated series has in store for the King of Wakanda and Earth's Mightiest Heroes. The show's fifth season will focus on Black Panther, who became a main character and key member of the Avengers in season 4.
After Marvel's animated series Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes ended after two seasons, Marvel launched Avengers Assemble on Disney XD in 2013. Following the show's second season, the series was rebranded as Avengers: Ultron Revolution in season 3, and again as Avengers: Secret Wars for season 4, which concluded in March. Season 5, subtitled Black Panther's Quest, will premiere in September.
Disney XD has released a new trailer for Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Quest, which centers on Black Panther and his sister Shuri, who previously appeared on the show in an episode of season 4. Based on the footage, the team of Avengers featured in the new season will be Captain America, Black Panther, Iron Man, Thor, Ms. Marvel, Captain Marvel, and Black Widow. Hawkeye, Hulk, and Falcon were notably absent from the trailer. The video also introduces White Wolf, an important character in the Black Panther comics. In the MCU, the "White Wolf" identity is associated with the Winter Soldier.
The trailer shows how the new season will bring many comedic moments to the series via the pairing of Black Panther and Shuri. Season 5 is expected to explore more of Wakanda and feature more members of Black Panther's family than past seasons. Black Panther didn't have a major role in the series until season 4, when he was forced to put together a new team of heroes with the intention of rescuing the original team of Avengers. This allowed the series to shine the spotlight on a very different cast of characters.
As opposed to its predecessor,  Avengers Assemble has always reflected the current direction of the MCU, which is indicated by its roster of heroes, storylines, the designs for several of the characters, and its choice of villains. Black Panther, a $1 billion-plus box office hit, was a massive critical and commercial success for Disney and Marvel, so with that in mind, it's no surprise that the animated series has chosen to fully embrace the King of Wakanda. With T'Challa's fate uncertain going into Avengers 4, at least those who love the character can still get their fix in the animated realm.
Marvel's Avengers: Black Panther's Questpremieres September 23rd on Disney XD.
