Avengers 4 Reshoots Reportedly Adding More Black Panther & Wakanda

It looks like the Avengers 4 reshoots will be adding more of Black Panther and his home nation of Wakanda. Now that all of Marvel Studios' 2018 films have come and gone, there's only one movie left on the docket - Anna Boden and Ryan Fleck's Captain Marvel, starring Brie Larson as the eponymous superhero - before the Earth's Mightiest Heroes reunite for one last showdown with the Mad Titan Thanos, to ultimately conclude the first saga of the ground-breaking Marvel Cinematic Universe.
This year's Avengers: Infinity War and next year's Avengers 4 - both movies directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, and co-written by Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely - were shot back-to-back last year. While the creative team behind the projects were busy in post-production on Infinity War pretty much up until the movie hit theaters earlier this year, they are now hard at work on editing Avengers 4. Given the scope of the blockbuster film, it's no surprise that the studio has scheduled reshoots for this summer to clean things up - and it looks like a few details regarding that additional photography has surfaced online.
Atlanta Filming reports that, based on Marvel Studios' casting as well as the locations they've recently chosen, part of the Avengers 4 reshootswill be adding in more of Black Panther and Wakanda. The extent of the additional photography is unclear at the moment, but inserting a bit more of Black Panther and Wakanda in Avengers 4 may not amount to something other than a few pick-ups, given the nature of the story not allowing for much fluidity in a general sense.
It's also unclear why the filmmakers are choosing to focus on Black Panther, if the aforementioned report is to be believed. But it's easy to deduce that, given the overwhelming success of Ryan Coogler's Black Panther movie, Marvel - and the Russos, for that matter - would want to place as much attention on the new superhero as possible. After all, he may end up leading the Avengers alongside Larson's Captain Marvel. Plus, it's worth noting that the Black Panther movie has still made more money at the domestic box office than Infinity War. Since the Russos couldn't add in more of Wakanda for Avengers 3, due to the release frame between both films, it makes sense that they would at least try to do so for Avengers 4.
Hopefully, some concrete information regarding the additional Black Panther/Wakanda scenes will come to light as the movie's release date nears. But fans shouldn't bank on seeing the Wakandan protector in any of the film's promotional material, as the Russos promised no "dead" characterswould show up in the trailers. For now, fans can look forward to finding out the title of Avengers 4as well as eventually seeing the first teaser trailer, which should release by the end of the year.
