There’s a myth going around that I keep seeing pop up, especially in places such as Reddit, where people believe Marvel will reveal the title for Avengers 4 with the Captain Marvel teaser trailer. That is absolutely not what Kevin Feige has said about when the title for Avengers 4 will be released, and it also doesn’t make any sense.
Talking about a movie releasing in May in the trailer introducing a brand new character to the MCU is just not the sort of thing Marvel would want to do. The focus for the Captain Marvel marketing would be to introduce Carol Danvers to the general movie-going audience who doesn’t read comic books and who has no idea who the character is.
More importantly, Kevin Feige has gone on record to say that the Avengers 4 title will come with the first teaser trailer for that movie, which will be coming at the end of the year some time after the first trailer for Captain Marvel. He said this in an interview with Collider back in June:
That’ll be after the Captain Marvel teaser probably, announcing that title. It’ll be towards the end of the year with however we launch that film
He doesn’t say it’ll be with the Captain Marvel teaser, he says right there it’ll be with the launch of Avengers 4. That means we’ll get the title around the same time we’ll see the first teaser trailer for the movie. Perhaps they’ll reveal the title when they announce when the trailer will arrive online, which is most likely going to be towards the end of November.
